Whenever possible, we will adopt Building Information Modelling (BIM) to drive productivity. Using BIM helps us to provide superior services to our clients as a result of better and faster coordination via the BIM platform. Integrating and taking advantage of BIM aids us in improving our process workflow, project coordination and eventually leads to a higher level of output quality and efficiency. As part of our technology enhancement, we have also invested in software and hardware capability as well as necessary skills training for our staff to ensure that we are BIM ready and BIM competent. Since then, we have also explored the use of Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) in a project and increased productivity.

Within DLE, we have created an Integrated Concurrent Engineering (ICE) Space for BIM software explorations and effective collaborations. This is to promote VDC capability, active collaborations and environment setting for interactive meetings with various stakeholders in a project.

DLE aims to be a progressive contractor, committed to improving our processes and technology with the goal of increasing productivity.
We were also recognised by BCA for being a progressive subcontractor and received both the BCA Awards 2017 – Construction Productivity Advocate (Merit) and the BCA BIM Award 2017 – Organisation Category (Gold). As part of BCA Awards 2017, we were interviewed in Straits Times where we attributed our success to technology and teamwork.

DLE organised a BIM in MEP Coordination Course for Staff at BCA Academy in July 2017.

Staff are continually trained in the latest 3D modelling software to enhance our BIM capability. Integrated Concurrent Engineering (ICE) sessions are conducted using Smartboards in our ICE area.
